Saad Edhi, son of famous Pakistani philanthropist Faisal Edhi, has joined the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian mission departing from Turkey for Gaza.
The flotilla sailed from the Turkish coastal city of Marmaris with more than 500 activists, volunteers, and humanitarian workers from multiple countries onboard. The mission aims to deliver emergency relief supplies to civilians affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
According to reports, Saad Edhi spent several days in Turkey overseeing the purchase and preparation of humanitarian supplies. These supplies include ration packs, dry food, medicines, and baby formula intended for people in Gaza. Organizers stated that the journey is expected to take approximately six to seven days.
The Global Sumud Flotilla is an international humanitarian initiative focused on delivering aid to Gaza through maritime routes. The mission comes at a time of increasing international concern over the humanitarian situation in the region.
Previous flotilla missions reportedly faced interceptions in international waters, making this latest journey highly significant for humanitarian organizations and international activists participating in the convoy.
