A passenger was arrested at Faisalabad Railway Station after allegedly traveling on an AI-generated fake train ticket while onboard the Shalimar Express. According to railway police officials, the accused, identified as Ehtesham, was traveling from Sangla Hill to Faisalabad when the suspicious ticket was detected during checking.
Authorities stated that the ticket appeared to have been created using artificial intelligence tools to imitate an original Pakistan Railways ticket. After verification, railway police immediately took the passenger into custody and registered a case under multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code related to fraud and forgery.
The incident has sparked discussions about the misuse of artificial intelligence technologies in creating fake documents, tickets, IDs, and receipts. Experts believe such cases highlight the growing need for stronger digital verification systems and cybersecurity measures in public transport services.
Railway authorities are reportedly investigating the matter further to determine how the fake ticket was produced and whether similar cases have occurred previously.
