FM Dar discusses regional security, Makkah pact with Saudi, Egyptian and Turkish counterparts

In a separate conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Dar discussed Pakistan-Egypt bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international developments. Abdelatty invited Dar to undertake a bilateral visit to Egypt at his earliest convenience, according to the Foreign Office. The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and remaining engaged on regional security matters. They also agreed to meet on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session. Dar also spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and thanked him for hosting the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement in Istanbul. The two foreign ministers followed up on the understandings reached at the meeting and discussed ways to further advance cooperation under the Makkah Defence Alliance. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, matters of mutual interest and opportunities to strengthen cooperation at multilateral fora, agreeing to remain in close contact.
