Satellite Images Expose Massive Deforestation Drive in KPK

Satellite images circulating online have revealed alarming levels of deforestation in several regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), sparking concerns among environmentalists and citizens alike.

The images reportedly show rapid clearing of forest areas across different districts, raising questions about illegal logging, land clearing, and weak environmental enforcement. Experts warn that continued deforestation could severely impact the province’s ecosystem and increase environmental risks in the future.

Forests play a critical role in controlling temperatures, preventing soil erosion, reducing flood damage, and supporting wildlife habitats. Environmental analysts believe that large-scale tree loss in mountainous areas of KPK may contribute to landslides, water shortages, and climate-related disasters.

Climate activists and citizens on social media have called on authorities to launch transparent investigations and take strict action against those involved in illegal tree cutting activities. Many users are also demanding stronger forest monitoring systems using satellite technology and ground inspections.

KPK has previously been praised for large-scale plantation initiatives, making the recent reports of deforestation even more concerning for environmental observers.
