The Punjab government has announced plans to establish new Sahulat Bazaars in 27 cities across the province to provide relief to citizens affected by rising inflation.
According to officials, the markets are expected to become operational from July 1 in the new fiscal year. Authorities will also introduce 13 mobile “Sahulat on the Go†markets in various districts.
Fruits and vegetables will reportedly be available at prices lower than open market and official rates, while citizens within a five-kilometre radius may also receive free home delivery services.
Deputy commissioners have been instructed to complete all arrangements before June 30 for the public relief initiative.
