Pak Suzuki Expands Green Energy Efforts with Solar and Biogas Projects in Karachi

Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited has taken a significant step toward sustainability by launching new renewable energy installations at its manufacturing plant in Karachi. The initiative includes a 100 cubic meter per day biogas plant and a 920kW solar power system, both of which are now fully operational.

The biogas facility is designed to convert Napier grass and cafeteria waste into usable energy, helping reduce waste while generating cleaner power for industrial use. Alongside this, the newly installed solar power system is expected to generate approximately 1.39 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, significantly reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.

Company representatives stated that these projects are part of Pak Suzuki’s long-term commitment to environmental sustainability and carbon reduction goals. By integrating renewable energy into its manufacturing operations, the company aims to promote cleaner production methods and improve energy efficiency at its plant.

This development also aligns with a broader trend in Pakistan’s industrial sector, where companies are increasingly investing in renewable energy solutions such as solar and biogas to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.

Experts view such initiatives as an important step toward advancing sustainable industrial growth in Pakistan, particularly as energy costs rise and environmental concerns become more pressing.
