Islamabad Seals Petrol Pump After Customer Alle*ges Fuel Dispensing Irregularity

Islamabad authorities have sealed a petrol pump in Sector I-9 and arrested its manager after a customer alleged that 61 litres of petrol were dispensed into a vehicle with a 50-litre fuel tank.

The complaint prompted an immediate inspection by local authorities, who said they were acting to safeguard consumer rights and maintain transparency in fuel sales.

Complaint Triggers Official Inspection

According to publicly available reports, the incident came to light after a customer claimed that the amount of petrol dispensed exceeded the vehicle's stated fuel tank capacity.

In response, the Assistant Commissioner and a magistrate visited the fuel station to investigate the complaint. Following the inspection, officials stated that the issue had been verified.

Petrol Pump Sealed, Manager Arrested

After the inspection, authorities sealed the petrol pump, imposed a fine, and took the station's manager into custody.

The administration has not only taken enforcement action in this case but has also reiterated its commitment to investigating similar complaints received from the public.

Consumer Protection Remains a Priority

Officials said the Islamabad administration is responding quickly to complaints related to fuel stations to help protect consumers from alleged fraudulent practices.

Authorities encouraged citizens to report suspected irregularities so that timely inspections and appropriate legal action can be taken where necessary.

Importance of Fair Fuel Dispensing

Accurate fuel dispensing is essential for maintaining consumer confidence and ensuring fair business practices. Regular inspections, calibrated equipment, and responsive complaint mechanisms are key to ensuring customers receive the quantity of fuel they pay for.

The latest action highlights ongoing efforts by the administration to strengthen oversight of fuel stations and promote accountability within the retail fuel sector.
