21,951 Pakistanis Deported from Gulf Countries in 2026, Saudi Arabia Accounts for Majority

More than 21,000 Pakistani nationals were deported from Gulf countries between March 1 and July 13, 2026, according to figures shared with Pakistan’s National Assembly.

The Ministry for Narcotics Control reported a total of 21,951 deportations during the period. The deportations were linked to various reasons, including overstaying visas, illegal entry, begging, drug-related offences, forged documents, visa violations, refused asylum and security-related concerns.

Saudi Arabia Records Highest Number

Saudi Arabia accounted for the largest share of deportations, with nearly 15,500 Pakistani nationals sent back to Pakistan during the period.

The UAE followed with 3,803 deportations, while Oman recorded 1,606. Pakistani nationals were also deported from Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.

The figures were presented in the National Assembly in response to questions raised by MNA Hameed Hussain.

Reasons Behind the Deportations

The reported figures cover a range of immigration and legal violations. These include:

  • Visa overstaying
  • Illegal entry
  • Begging
  • Drug-related offences
  • Forged or fraudulent documents
  • Visa violations
  • Refused asylum claims
  • Security-related concerns

Not every deportation necessarily involved a criminal offence, as some cases were related to immigration or documentation issues.

What the Numbers Mean for Pakistanis Abroad

The figures highlight the importance of following immigration rules and maintaining valid documentation while working or travelling abroad.

For Pakistanis seeking employment in Gulf countries, proper visa processing, legal employment arrangements and compliance with local laws remain particularly important. Travelers should also verify employment offers and documentation through legitimate channels before leaving Pakistan.

The large number of deportations also underscores the continuing importance of stronger awareness among overseas Pakistanis about immigration requirements and the legal consequences of violations.

Gulf Countries Remain a Major Destination

Gulf countries remain among the most important destinations for Pakistani workers and expatriates. Millions of Pakistanis live and work across the region, contributing to their families and the Pakistani economy through employment and remittances.

At the same time, deportation figures demonstrate the challenges faced by some Pakistani nationals abroad, particularly those involved in undocumented work, visa violations or other prohibited activities.
